Privacy Policy
In short: your audits, photos, voice notes and reports are stored on your phone, not on our servers. We have no Auditeo account and no cloud database. When you use AI Assist, the voice note or text needed is sent securely to be processed and is not kept by us. Photos are never sent to us.
Auditeo is operated by SYNTRAI, based in France, which is the controller of the limited information described in this policy. It explains what the Auditeo app collects, why, and who processes it.
Information that stays on your phone
Everything you create in Auditeo is stored locally on your device, in the app's own storage: audit details (title, address, client, reference, inspector), rooms, findings and their text, photos and annotations, voice recordings and their transcripts, the site location, your company details and logo, settings, and the reports you generate. We never receive a copy. It leaves your phone only when you choose to share a report or export a backup, and then only to the destination you pick (for example an email or a file app).
Inspection data may include information about other people, such as a client's name or a property address. You are responsible for collecting and sharing that information lawfully in your own work; Auditeo simply stores it on your device for you.
Information sent when you use AI Assist
AI Assist is used only when you ask for it (and, after your consent, to transcribe a voice note right after you record it). Depending on the feature, the app sends over an encrypted connection:
- Transcription: the audio of the voice note.
- Drafting a finding: the transcript, the room name, the audit type and the report language.
- Fill with AI (report sections): the room names and the findings' titles, observations, recommendations, priorities and statuses, plus any notes you already wrote in those sections. The site address, client name and photos are not sent.
These requests pass through our gateway to our AI provider, which returns the text. We don't store the audio, transcripts or findings on our servers, and we don't use them to train AI models. Nothing the AI returns is added to your audit until you accept it.
Information sent for the site map
When you record a site location for an audit, the app sends that position (latitude and longitude only) to our map provider to fetch a small map picture, which is then saved on your phone. GPS is optional and chosen per audit.
Anonymous identifiers and usage counts
The app creates a random device identifier that isn't linked to your name, email or any account. If you subscribe, the subscription service also gives you an anonymous customer identifier. These are sent with AI and map requests so we can apply the monthly AI allowance and prevent abuse. Our gateway stores only the identifier with counters (for example, minutes transcribed this month) and short technical markers that stop a retried request from being counted twice. These are deleted automatically after about 40 days.
Subscriptions and payments
Payment is handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play under the account you subscribe with; Auditeo never sees your card details. To know whether your subscription or free trial is active, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives your purchase and subscription status, the anonymous customer identifier and limited technical information needed to validate purchases (such as app version, device type and country).
Device permissions
- Camera — to photograph findings.
- Microphone — to record voice notes.
- Photos — only to import pictures you pick (on Android through the system picker, without access to your whole library).
- Location — only for audits where you turn GPS on, to record where the site and photos are.
Each permission is asked the first time you use the feature, and the app works without it.
What we don't do
We don't use advertising or analytics SDKs, we don't track you across other apps or websites, we don't sell your data, and we don't build profiles. Apart from the items above, the only usage figures we see are the aggregate ones Apple and Google provide (for example, install counts).
Who processes data for us
- OpenAI — the AI service that transcribes voice notes and drafts text when you use AI Assist. Under its own terms it may keep submitted content for a limited period (for example, up to 30 days for security and abuse monitoring) and does not use API content to train its models.
- Cloudflare — hosts our gateway between the app and the AI and map services, and stores the anonymous identifiers and counters described above.
- Geoapify (map data © OpenStreetMap contributors) — produces the site map picture from the coordinates you recorded.
- RevenueCat — manages subscription status.
- Apple / Google — process subscription payments, trials and billing.
Some of these providers are based in, or process data in, the United States and other countries outside the EU and UK. Each describes the safeguards it uses for international transfers (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) in its own privacy policy.
Legal basis
We process the limited data above to provide the service you asked for (contract), and for AI Assist on the basis of your consent, which you give in the app and can withdraw at any time in Settings by turning AI Assist off.
Retention
Data on your phone stays until you delete it or uninstall the app. Our gateway keeps only the anonymous counters, for about 40 days. Our AI provider may retain submitted content for a limited period under its own terms. Subscription records are held by Apple, Google and RevenueCat under their own policies and legal obligations.
Your rights
Because there is no Auditeo account, we hold no name or email for you. Deleting an audit in the app removes it from your phone; uninstalling removes everything (keep a backup first if you need one). If you are in the EU, the UK or another place that gives you privacy rights, you can ask us about access, deletion or objection for any information we may hold by emailing the address below; as identifiers aren't linked to your identity, we may need details from you to find them. You can also complain to your data-protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
Security
Everything sent by the app travels over encrypted connections. Data on your phone is protected by your device's lock screen and storage encryption. Backups you export are files under your control: store and share them carefully, as they contain your inspection data and photos.
Children
Auditeo is a professional tool and is not directed at anyone under 16.
Changes
If we make a material change to how we handle data, we'll update this page and its date.
